Seller's Description
This is a British Army Field Service Post Card from WW1. It is postmarked 13 April 1916, from FPO 168, which was then being used by the 168th (2nd London) Brigade, 56th Division on the Western Front. It was sent by O.J. Pointer to a Miss Baxter in Surbiton, Surrey.
The sender might be Private Jack Oliver Pointer, Machine Gun Corps (with service number 10093, see third image of Medal Index Card). Although the initials appears to be reversed on the card (O.J. not J.O.), there are no other men with the surname Pointer who seem to fit.
If this is right, he may have been serving with 168th Company, Machine Gun Corps, in 168th (2nd London) Brigade. This Private Pointer received a Silver Wound Badge, so may have had an injury that returned him to the UK.
I cannot locate any further information on the recipient Miss Baxter.
The card is in fair condition with minor wear to the corners and edges, and a few marks.
