Seller's Description
This is a postcard where the back is perhaps more interesting than the front. The card, with a view of Koln/Cologne, Germany, was posted to a Turkish official (whose name is hard to read), but whose position is “Directeur du Cabinet, au Ministre des Finances, Constaninople". “Director du Cabinet” may have been the “Office Director”, a role possibly equating to Permanent Secretary in the UK Civil Service. With further research, it might be possible to identify this individual.
The date of posting is unclear, but may be c. 1900s-1910s, which would make some sense as Imperial Germany and Turkey were diplomatically close at this time.
The card is in fair condition, with some wear to the corners and edges, and a few marks.
