Mikhail Nikolaevich Pokrovsky (1868-1932) is a historian and academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. He graduated from the Faculty of History and Philology of Moscow University and received serious scientific training from historical professors V.O.Klyuchevsky and P.G.Vinogradov. Since 1907, Pokrovskys articles on the history of the national economy, domestic and foreign policy, and the social movement of Russia have been published in the collective 9-volume History of Russia in the 19th Century and the Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Granat Brothers.
