Original 1885 9 inch x 5 1/4 inch engraving titled PIERRE PUVIS DE CHAVANNES.
Engraved by Paul Jonnard (1840 - 1902). Wood-engraver, student of Auguste Trichon. Known for his work after Gustave Doré. Worked for British and French magazines, including the 'Magazine of Art'
Painted by Leon Bonnat (1833 - 1922). A French painter, Grand Officer of the Légion d'honneur and professor at the Ecole des Beaux Arts.
