Original 1984 Re-Release Czech 11 inch x 16 inch Poster for the 1966 Jerzy Kawalerowicz Drama PHAROAH (FAROAN), based on the novel by Boleslaw Prus and starring Jerzy Zelnik, Wieslawa Mazurkiewicz and Barbara Brylska.
A story of the fictional Egyptian ruler Ramses XIII. A pictorial monumentalism, a stylized theoretical interpretation, and a rich epic plot were the foundation of a work that was meant to illustrate the inner conflict of absolute power, and thus be an exotic replication of the current situation in Poland.
Poster art by Zdenek Ziegler. Born in 1932 Ziegler is a graphic artist, typographer and designer.
The poster is in fine condition.
