Original 1866 engraving titled PART OF THE EAST FRIEZE OF THE PARTHENON
Three images showing parts of the Parthenon in the British Museum, from top: priest handing sacred robe to child flanked by gods and goddesses, number of figures including ones with sticks on the left, seven women in procession to the left.
Engraving by Alfred Robert Freebairn (1794 - 1846). London engraver of landscapes for travel-guides. He was also engaged in making anaglyptographs using Bate's patent process.
Lettered below image with title: "As restored by the late John Henning”.
Published in the Art Journal by J.S. Virtue & Co. Ltd., London.

The engraving, on fairly thick paper, is in very good condition. Reverse side blank.
