Seller's Description
Original 11 1/2 inch x 9 1/4 inch Still of FRANCOIS PERIER & MARIE DEA in the 1950 Jean Cocteau Fantasy ORPHEE.
Jean Cocteau’s variation of the Orpheus myth about a young poet (Jean Marais), scorned by the Left Bank youth, and his love for both his wife, Eurydice (Déa), and a mysterious princess (Maria Casarès). Seeking inspiration, the poet follows the princess from the world of the living to the land of the dead, through Cocteau’s famous mirrored portal.
Photo by Roger Corbeau with his stamp on the reverse.
The still, on doubleweight paper, is in very good condition.
