Seller's Description

From the General Phonograph Corporation, circa 1923, though now part of the CBS-Columbia music family. A rich history surrounds this label founded by Otto Heinemann, who issued not only recordings similar to other companies, but also music for audiences in the German, Czech, Polish, Swedish and Yiddish communities neglected by others.

Offered here is a well played but fair sounding pair of 1951 pop and ballad sounds from Johnnie Ray and The Four Lads.

A partial gloss still shows through numerous light scuffs and scratches. No cracks, chips, or skips.

Side CO 47102 presents Ray's original ballad of "The Little White Cloud That Cried", and side CO 46970 offers the highly emotional "Cry", both with orchestral accompaniment.
