Original 1960 Polish 23 inch x 33 inch Poster for the 1950 Astrid Henning-Jensen & Bjarne Henning-Jensen Danish Drama NORTH SEA BOYS (VESTERHAVSDRENGE), based on the novel “Klit Per” by A. Christian Westergaard and starring Kjeld Bentzen, Anne Grete Hilding, Lars Henning-Jensen, Nette Høj Hansen, Jens Konge Rasmussen, Bente Kaas Hvalsøe and Preben Lerdorff Rye.

In the west coast dunes 16-year-old Per dreams of owning his own boat while he fills his days with chores and play. Youth comes to an abrupt end when Pers father dies, and suddenly it's up to Per to support his three siblings. Per get hired on a fishing boat and must soon learn that life at sea is rough and dangerous.

Poster art by Wiktor Gorka (1922 - 2004). Born in Komorowice, Poland, Górka obtained a degree in graphic design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in 1952 where he was under the supervision of Jerzy Karolak. He was a co-founder of the so-called Polish School of Posters, whose most important principles were: simplicity and clarity, the use of concise symbols and poetic metaphors, as well as diverse means of expression. Between the 50s and the 80s Wiktor Górka worked with the biggest Polish publishers and film distributors. He designed posters (amounting to nearly 300), book and magazine covers, commercial logos and prints.

The poster is in very good folded condition. There is a 3 inch tear across the vertical fold.
