Original Paramount 9 inch x 7 1/4 inch Portrait of NITA NALDI wearing clothes designed by Ethel Chaffin in the 1922 Fred Niblo & Dorothy Arzner Romance BLOOD AND SAND, based on the novel by Vicente Blasco Ibáñez.
Nita Naldi (1894 - 1961) was an American silent film actress. One of the most successful actresses in Hollywood during the “Roaring Twenties”, she was often cast in the role of the “femme fatale”/”vamp”, a persona first popularized by actress Theda Bara.
The portrait is in very good, probably trimmed, condition with the previous owner’s sticker attached to the reverse.
