Original British 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1956 Maxwell Shane Thriller NIGHTMARE, based on the novel by Cornell Woolrich and starring Edward G. Robinson, Kevin McCarthy, Virginia Christine and Connie Russell.
A jazz musician wakes from a dream in which he killed someone, and discovers evidence to suggest that this was not simply a dream. A chilling little story, in which McCarthy, best known for his lead in “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, plays the musician opposite the ever-watchable Robinson, cool and collected as McCarthy’s cop brother-in-law. Excellent moody photography and a swinging jazz score.
