Seller's Description
The New York Standard Watch Company was incorporated in 1885. The first location of the factory was in Jersey City, New Jersey. The company first produced an 18-size quick train open faced movement. The company also made its own cases, and the watches were sold as complete. The first watches were produced in early 1888. In 1903 the company was sold to the Keystone Case Company. Production continued until 1929. Some 7,000,000 watches were made.
This gold-filled watch is Serial #2559957. The crystal is smooth and intact. The back cover over the escapement shows a lovely relief but has some scratch damage at the top edges where it was pried open to clean. This watch has all its parts but appears to have been wound too tightly and is not working. Examine the following images and forward any questions for additional information you require.
