Original vintage Birds eye view of the CITY OF NEW YORK, Looking North. Engraved by Karst. There is also a section on the bottom of the page titled Diagram of the City Explaining the Illustrations Above which shows where the Castle Garden, The Battery, The Produce Exchange, The Custom House, The U.S. Treasury, the Trinity Church, Western Union Telegraph Building, U.S. Post Office, City Hall and Court House, U.S. Navy Yard, Cooper Union, Grace Church, Long Island City, Blackwell's Island, Astoria, Hell Gate, Wards Island, The Harlem River, Central Park, The Palisades, N.J., and the Brooklyn Suspension Bridge. The etching is in VG+ condition, with no tears on the image, practically no foxing. Image area is clean and pristine. Slight age toning around the outer edges. This 130+ year old antique map would look fabulous matted and framed! Old 1882 map NYC bird eye view looking north.
