Seller's Description
This N D & CO Carlsbad Austria porcelain china teacup is vintage with a delicate design and floral pattern. The fluted design of the cup is very pretty as well as the scalloped, embossed edge on the saucer. Both are trimmed with a dainty gold pattern. How they have grouped the flowers together on the cup and, separately to make them visible on the saucer adds to its beauty.
My personal thoughts: The size of the cup makes the saucer appear "petite" (smaller) in size and this set would make a nice gift for a child with its smaller, ornate handle. Note: As a petite adult, my index finger fits, but snugly, inside the handle. *I can easily hold onto the cup with my index & middle fingers and thumb. However, in comparison to many teacups I have listed, this handle is smaller in design for adult hands.
Brand & History: N D & Co Carlsbad China Austria ; Made by Nowotny & Dressle who were active from around 1901 to 1920.
Color: White, Pinks, Lavender, Gold Trim
Cup Style: Scalloped, raised base
Approximate Measurements: Cup Diameter : 3 1/2 inches & w/Handle 4 3/8 inches; Cup Height: 2 inches; Saucer Diameter: 5 inches
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or crazing. Note: There is slight wear on the gold trim where a thumb is placed on the handle. Also, on the saucer just above the smaller flower there is a very small mark. It does not come off, so I want to point this out to you.
Shipping (USA Only - No International): USPS Priority Mail, Calculated Rate (based on our two zip codes to give you a fair and accurate price. My zip is 88316).
Note: I state to allow two (2) days for shipping. However, my normal turnaround, after payment has cleared, is one (1) day shipping or same day shipping if time allows to get to the Post Office on time. 50 cents extra is added to cover the cost of the packing materials to prevent damage in shipping.
