Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1956 Herbert Wilcox Drama MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER starring Anna Neagle, Sylvia Syms, Norman Wooland, Wilfrid Hyde-White, Kenneth Haigh, Julia Lockwood, Helen Haye, Michael Shepley, Wanda Ventham, Avice Landone and Edie Martin.
Syms (actually 22 and starring in her first film) is the sweet teenage daughter of Neagle who becomes involved with ruffians and is soon in trouble with the police.
The poster art is by Brian Robb (1913 - 1979). Brian Robb was born in Scarborough, educated at Malvern College and studied at Chelsea School of Art from 1930, and at the Slade School of Fine Art from 1935. He went on to produce cartoons for Punch magazine, book illustrations and posters for Shell and London Transport. During World War II he was a creative camouflage officer in the Western Desert and after the war taught at Chelsea College of Art before becoming head of illustration at the Royal College of Art.
