Mugnier Aperitif 12 x 18 Poster

12inch x 18inch Poster Leonetto Cappiello (9. April 1875 in Livorno, Italy ?? 2. February 1942 in Cannes, France) was an Italian poster art designer who lived in Paris. He is now often called 'the father of modern advertising' because of his innovation in poster design. The frolicking Mugnier reveler effervesces with the best of them. Note the unusual effect by which Cappiello makes it look as if the lady is illuminated by green footlights from an unusual foreground source. This design owes something to Loie Fuller's dance under multi-colored lights; in another way, it anticipates by some 50 years, the psychedelic effect of the early rock show poster. Mugnier, a liqueur with a wine base and flavored with blackberries and cherries, began to be manufactured in Dijon in 1863 by Frederic Mugnier. By 1891, he was able to expand by building one of the largest distilling factories in the area. There is a border around the image. The image size is correct.
