MP3 Player, iPod, iPhone docking station w/Waterproof Wireless Floating Speaker

Our product assessment team had a chance to ‘test drive’ one of these sweet devices over a steamy summer weekend in FL and discovered the following results:

1.) First, please note, ‘Rock N Ball’ was originally an exclusive QVC product priced at $79 on clearance, down from their original price of $110, but don’t take our word for it. You are getting this exact QVC product right here, including shipping, for the price advertised in this posting. So basically, what we're trying to say is that after we pay about $10+ out of our own pocket to ship this to you, a $20-ish waterproof floating speaker with MP3 docking capabilities and a built-in FM tuner, even with its limitations listed below, is VERY hard to find and beat, at this price.

2.) Second, considering our rock bottom price, in relation to what we discovered, we still feel it’s a good deal. After all, you are getting ‘Rock N Ball’ for 76% off the original $110 price and it basically functions as QVC advertises (including lots of volume when using the internal FM tuner) with exception to the following discoveries:

A.) We hooked up both an Apple iphone and an Apple mini iPod and found the resulting volume, when using these types of music device sources (even after turning up volume on both the speaker and digital music device), to be somewhat minimal when compared to the speaker’s internal FM tuner. Although the resulting MP3 volume may suffice while lounging in the pool and soaking up some rays or while reading a good book by yourself, we feel that if you intend to use an MP3 music source to entertain 4 screaming kids splashing around in a pool, it would be much better to tune into one of their favorite FM stations on the speaker instead. We also tried a Blackberry device and found the resulting sound to be much, much louder than both iphone devices. We imagine the same may hold true with other Android and MP3 devices but we can't say for sure since we only tested with an iphone, mini iPod and Blackberry. If you do plan to use an Apple device (iphone, iPad, etc.) you might try going to your "Settings", select "Music", then "Playback", then "Volume Limit", then "Switch to Off" or "Slide  to Max Volume". We're not guaranteeing this will help everyone with an Apple device but it has helped some customers.

B.) The advertised 150 foot wireless MP3 transmitting range seems relative to an individual’s placement application. Although the speaker seemed to operate within that range, it did ‘static-out’ for a second or two, from time to time, while moving it around within the transmission range, until the signal was relocked-in again. You  may not experience this issue depending on your particular application but we thought it was worth noting.
