Seller's Description

Original British 9 1/4 inch x 7 1/4 inch Portrait of JANE GRIFFITHS in the 1954 Ronald Neame Comedy THE MILLION POUND NOTE, based on the novel by Mark Twain.

As part of a bet, two aristocrats offer a penniless American a loan, without telling him that the amount is £1,000,000 in the form of a single banknote.

Portrait by Cornel Lucas. Born in 1923 Lucas was a world-renowned Rank Studios photographer known for his legendary black-and-white portraits of stars including Joan Collins, Brigitte Bardot, Lauren Bacall, Marlene Dietrich, Katharine Hepburn and Diana Dors, among many others.

The portrait is in very good condition with a synopsis tacked to the reverse.
