Seller's Description
A handmade Metropolitan State College of Denver, Colorado stoneware art pottery plate. The plate has a speckled oatmeal color glaze with cobalt blue accents. The top of the plate has 'Metropolitan State College of Denver, Trustees of the State Colleges in Colorado, 1963' painted onto it. There are outlines of mountains and a burning torch embossed in a circular design. Cobalt blue leaves decorate the edges of the plate. It looks similar to Williamburg Pottery designs.
This beautiful stoneware art pottery plate weighs 20.9 ounces. The plate is approximately 1.25 inches high and 8.25 inches in diameter. It has a medium sheen.
It has no chips, cracks, crazing or repair. There are no signs of use. The bottom is signed by the art pottery artist. See picture.
A very nice presentation piece for the Metro State graduate or alumni.
