Question From alex.barison [+1] Mon 09 Aug 2021 17:09:38 (EDT) Hi Nick, I just have a polite query regarding these items which I had made offers on. You may remember that I bought some Heathrow material from you last year, which you kindly sent out to me in Australia (I'm now back in UK). However going by past experience, it indeed appears to be the case that you are not at all interested in entertaining any offers for these items, even though, frustratingly, the "make an offer" option is available on most of your listings? They have sat on here for years and I remember you saying that all this material would be thrown out if no further interest was shown! I would have thought offers would be welcome, given how long these items have been listed here. I hope you don't take offense, but I am just genuinely perplexed by this, and had to ask? Kind regards, Alex.

Answer From nikkmikk [+366] Wed 11 Aug 2021 01:59:38 (EDT) Hi Alex.
Thanks for yourmesaage. Yes I
remember you and the sale.
At present I am away looking after
my dad,post heart attack.
Checking emails and similar just
isnt on my radar that much, hence
the fact that the ebid system auto
declined all offers. I simply havent
looked at anything to do with email
or my online shop. Youre quite
right,the Heathtow items are still
bagged up waiting to go,although
they may be damaged or a bit wet
by now, having been in storage and
weve had some mighty rain before
I left.When I get back i,ll take a look.
Thanks very much for looking at
the items again. I already reduced
those items a while ago from what
I was asking before,and I think
theyre pretty reasonable now.
Anyway when I get back i will see
what condition theyre in. Are you
in a hurry for any item(s)?(Like for a
birthday or your project?)Thanks
again for looking.

Question From alex.barison [+1] Wed 11 Aug 2021 03:29:00 (EDT) Hi Nick, thanks for your reply, and no worries. Very sorry to hear of the situation with your dad, I can well appreciate why you would not be able to check in on your listings. However I do find it strange, as ebid shows a last login status for users, (on the desktop version at least) with date & time, where the login status for your account did in fact update twice on Monday, the first being just after 5pm, before the offers expired!
Hence my confusion and bewilderment. But not to worry, I won’t make any more fuss over it and I accept that you have a price you want for these items, although I would politely recommend that you perhaps update/remove the “make offer” option for your listings when you have an opportunity, to avoid future situations such as this! I am potentially still interested in these items and I’m not in a hurry for them at all, will just do the “buy it now” for the lot - however, I am deeply concerned about the mention of damp/water damage, so yes I would appreciate you confirming their condition, if they are indeed water damaged or affected by damp then they’d surely be ruined and not even in saleable condition?? I await your response. Best wishes, Alex

Question From alex.barison [+1] Tue 24 Aug 2021 13:00:20 (EDT) Hi Nick, have you been able to take a look at the items I made offers on to see if they are now ruined by water damage?
It would be in your interest to respond, as what you've suggested in your previous response would potentially invalidate all the applicable listings - each described as "used but near mint condition, 9/10" etc.
If damaged then they are no longer as currently described, or even in saleable condition...
If you are still away perhaps you should update your ebid profile. There is nothing mentioned on there to suggest that you are away or that orders cannot be sent out currently...
I'd appreciate a reply?

Answer From nikkmikk [+366] Sat 04 Sep 2021 05:50:05 (EDT) Alex.
I have returned from looking after Dad. That is by far the most important thing.
Your constant tips on how to run the shop are not helpful at a time of already
great stress. I know what to do - Ive been doing it for ten years. Ebid dont
have such fancy things as OOO replies. I have not had a chance to check the
status of anything. I returned 2 days ago and now have mundane things like
washing clothes, work and bills to sort out. I added a few new items for sale as
I found them in my old room at Mum and Dad's house. Other than that I've not
done anything online other than my shopping. As soon as I am able,I will check
and reactivate the LHR shop. If there is anything sellable it will be relisted.
Before I left I cast a glance in the shed and the items are still there as I left
them pre lockdown. As wost somethhings will be ruined and at best
somethings will be as I left them. Any damage will be reflected in the
description. As always I will throw in freebies where appropriate. Please
continue to be patient, I'd appreciate that. The items arent going
anywhere. The shop has been closed. I am going to work now, Nick

Question From alex.barison [+1] Sun 05 Sep 2021 06:22:07 (EDT) Hi Nick, thanks for replying…as regards your personal situation, which is very unfortunate - that is not in question and it is not being undermined in any way. The feedback I’ve given about your shop is completely valid from a customer perspective. All of this could have been avoided in the first place had the shop been deactivated back then, or by simply having some kind of written notification on your profile/listing, that’s all, just so potential buyers know what’s going on. That’s not a really big deal. It’s just part of the responsibility of selling things online. What would have happened if I’d hit the “buy it now” on those 10 items, and paid for them all straight up? All I had to go on was the info in the description, as it was then. I have been buying/selling on the other famous auction site 16+ years myself, with countless transactions/offers, with a 100% feedback score and have never once encountered a situation such as this.
I’ll leave it there and wish you good luck. Alex
