Original U.S. 27 inch x 41 inch 1-Sheet Poster for the 1971 Kevin Billington Adventure THE LIGHT AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD, based on the novel by Jules Verne and starring Kirk Douglas, Yul Brynner, Samantha Eggar, Jean Claude Drouot, Fernando Rey, Renato Salvatori, Massimo Ranieri and Oscar Davis.

A ruthless pirate captures the keeper of a lighthouse, in the most southern city in Argentina. His goal is obvious and horrific. He plans to control the lighthouses signals in a way that the passing ships will be crushed on the rocks.

Poster art by Howard Terpning. Howard Terpning was born November 5, 1927, in Oak Park, Illinois. He is an American painter and illustrator best known for his paintings of Native Americans. He studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the American Academy of Art in Chicago. In 1962, he began working as a freelance artist creating magazine covers, story illustrations and advertising art for publications such as Reader's Digest, Time and Newsweek. In addition Terpning completed over 80 movie posters starting with The Guns of Navarone in 1961. Other examples include Cleopatra, Doctor Zhivago, The Sound of Music, The Sand Pebbles, and the 1967 re-release of Gone with the Wind.
