The world ended. Then they had an election. Lection is an indie thriller about a local election in a post-apocalyptic society. When you run for office in this village, you literally run. And fight. And cheat, lie and steal. Anything to amass more followers and more power. With food running out and unrest growing, a political upstart challenges an entrenched mayor. Vote or die.

When David asked me to do this movie, the script captured my imagination. It features a village, sometime in the future, after an apocalyptic event has destroyed all of the normalcy of society. Everything is scarce, and the villagers scratch out a living on bad land, bartering for what they need and trusting the Mayor for their daily bread, which is in increasingly short supply. The story takes us on an adventure to explore what can happen when people forget how to talk to each other to negotiate solutions to their differences. When common ground is impossible to find, there is only one avenue left to settle the issues - a political contest, in the most primitive manner, to decide leadership. This is truly a movie for today's political climate.
