Printed monochrome postcard showing a view of a Breton cod fisherman and his wife at Paimpol in Brittany before departing for the cod-fishing banks of Iceland after the seas around Newfoundland were abandoned in the early 20th century.
Published by Collection Villard, Quimper, No 1115.
Postally used on 27 March 1905 with Saint-Lo cancellation on green 5c stamp and sent to Miss Hilda Higson, Mount Agar, Eccles Old Road, Pendleton, Manchester, England and with double circle receipt postmark for Manchester on the 29th.
Excellent condition, with minimal corner bumps.
