I sheet of reusable transfers, 2 have been cut out and are missing. There are 6 unused peacocks left.

This transfer was original offered by the Calgary Herald – Needle Craft Department (Located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada). The date stamp on the envelope is Jul 3, 1957.

Laura Wheeler 622

This pattern contains motifs to be used on towels, pillow-cases, scarfs, cloths, tray cloths and pillows. They are to be embroidered in simple stitches in various colors. Linen, muslin, plain gingham, chambray or similar materials are suitable to use. Six strand cotton may be used for embroidery.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:
(Use material that is 36 inches wide unless other width is given).
36 INCH CLOTH: 1 yard.
54 INCH CLOTH: 1-1/2 yards 54 inch material.
15 OR 18 X 36 INCH SCARF: 1/2 yard or 1 yard 18 inch material.
15 OR 18 44 INCH SCARF: 1/2 yard 44 inch material or 1-1/4 yards 18 inch material.
PILLOW-CASE: 1 yard 44 inch material or a regulation pillow-case.
15 X 27 INCH TOWEL: 3/4 yard 18 inch material.
12 X 18 INCH TRAY CLOTH: 3/8 yard 18 inch material.
18 INCH PILLOW: 1/2 yard; 18 inch foundation cushion and 2-1/4 yards trimming.
Embroidery Thread in each color.

PLACING MOTIFS:
CLOTH: Use one motif in each corner using matching ones in opposite corners.
SCARF: Use one motif centered on each end using matching ones, or use one in each corner using one and one reverse on each end.
PILLOW-CASE OR TOWEL: Center one motif on one end.
TRAY CLOTH: Use motifs same as on scarf.
PILLOW: Center one large motif or use smaller motifs using one in each corner.

TRANSFERRING PATTERN: Cut the motifs from pattern. Pin them securely in place on material, printed side down. Lay the material on a padded surface (an ironing board will do). Try heat of iron on trial motif. Press over pattern with a moderately hot iron.

EMBROIDERY: Work single lines, single stitch; continuous lines, outline stitch; loops, lazy daisy stitch; dots, French knots or fine satin stitch.

COLOR SUGGESTIONS: Peacocks body in deep blue and green; eyes, deep blue outlined in gold; bill, black, crest, deep blue tipped with gold; eyes in tail - small section, gold; larger section, deep turquoise blue; outline, deep blue; remainder of tail, deep blue, deep green and rust; flowers, shades of deep rose, rose, pink, yellow, violet; centers, black or yellow; leaves and stems, green.

The envelope is in good condition. The Transfer sheet looks to be in good condition but is missing 2 peacocks.

The envelope measures approximately 8-1/8 X 5-1/4 inches (20.5 X 13.4 cm) and weighs ½ ounce (15 gr). Shipping weight will be 45 grams.

My Patterns are stored in a plastic storage bags and they are shipped in the same bag (if weight allows) placed inside of a standard envelope.
