All postcards are not totally new and are pre-owned. It's inevitable that older cards may show signs of ageing and use, particularly sent through the post. Any faults other than normal ageing are noted.

Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek the Younger or Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek (II) (January 29, 1873 – May 30, 1944) was a Netherlands painter from the Netherlands.

Koekkoek was born in Amsterdam into a large family of landscape painters as the son of Willem and was named after his uncle Marinus Adrianus the Elder. He spent 20 years working for the Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie in Leiden and is known for landscapes with animals.^[1] Koekkoek the Younger died in Amsterdam.

Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek (Amsterdam, 29 januari 1873 – Amsterdam, 30 mei 1944) of M.A. Koekkoek II was een Nederlands tekenaar en schilder van vooral dieren en vogels. Hij komt uit een schildersfamilie, zijn overgrootvader was Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek (1778-1851), zijn grootvader was Hermanus Koekkoek (1815-1882), zijn vader was Willem Koekkoek (1839-1895) en zijn broer was Hermanus Willem Koekkoek (1867-1929).

Koekkoek maakte de aquarellen voor twee series van 12 schoolplaten die gebruikt werden bij kennis der natuur:

• In ons land: Het Naardermeer; In de weide; In sloot en plas; Zoetwatervissen; In de Noordzee; Wintervogels; Aan het strand; In het duin; Bij de ruïne; Aan de rivier; Op de heide en In het bosch.
• Buiten ons land: Bewoners van de Karpaten; Te midden van sneeuw en ijs; In een Duitsch bergwoud; In het gebied van de Boven-Nijl; Aan de rand van de Kalahari; Onder de dadelpalmen; Noord-Amerikanen woudbewoners; In het Braziliaansche oerwoud; In de Syberische vlakte; Op Borneo; In de Rimboe en Uit de Australische dierenwereld.

Later maakte Koekkoek een tweede serie aquarellen van 12: IN ONS LAND. Dat zijn: ""Het Naardermeer:, ""In de weide"", ""In sloot en plas"", ""Zoetwatervissen"", ""In de Noordzee."", ""Vogels in de winter"", ""Aan het strand"", ""In het duin"", ""Bij de ruïne"", ""Aan de rivier"", ""Op de heide"" en ""In het bos"".

Koekkoek was vanaf 1 januari 1918 als wetenschappelijk tekenaar in dienst van het Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie in Leiden, waar hij twintig jaar werkte. Tussen 1922 en 1935 maakte hij 407 illustraties voor het boek Ornithologia Neerlandica, beter bekend als De Vogels van Nederland van Eduard Daniël van Oort. Deze illustraties werden gekopieerd in The Handbook of British Birds van Harry Forbes Witherby.

Als vrij kunstenaar schilderde Koekkoek impressionistische landschappen met vogels en pluimvee.
