Seller's Description

King Records was started in 1943 by Syd Nathan. Bostic recorded from 1949 to 1951 for this Cincinnati-based company, a small label that was well known for releasing "R and B" and Bluegrass records in addition to specializing in country music, at the time still known as "Hillbilly music". King advertised "If it's a King, It's a Hillbilly -- If it's a Hillbilly, it's a King".

This 1940's recording is in excellent condition, with an exceptional gloss and showing no cracks, chips, or skips. Very faint scuffs and scratches leave a very clear audio!

Side 9005 presents "September Song" and features a vocal by Clyde Terrell. Side 9018 offers, "Sleep". Both are performed by the renowned saxaphone rhythm & blues artist Earl Bostic and His Orchestra.
