Pavel Afanasievich Sochatsky (1765-1809) is a writer, professor of aesthetics and ancient literature at Moscow University. Sochatsky also taught logic and morals at the university boarding house. To guide the audience to lectures on aesthetics, he published in 1803 a book by the German philosopher and historian, Gettingen Professor Christoph Meiners (1747-1810).
