• Condition: Good though cover for the cards is slightly worn – see images for an overall impression. Do not know if any cards are missing – 21 cards seems an odd number?
• General Comments: This educational establishment has gone through a variety of name changes and merges, starting off originally in 1880 as the “Bournemouth Government School of Art”, finally becoming an official University in 2008. This card format is an unusual way to advertise a university to prospective undergraduates. The cards have mostly text or diagrams on one side and photos on the other. Each card has 6 slots around the perimeter and so can be joined together to build a 3D construct. On one of the cards it says: “See out stare-of-the art campus come to life in your hands and begin your journey at AUB by exploring our courses and facilities in 360 deg. Search ‘AUB AR’ and point your camera at the house of cards cover or our ‘join the dots’ marker card”. Many famous film directors and producers have obtained their degrees at this university. Would be ideal for anyone (or a friend/relative of) who had their photo taken for this prospectus. Or for anyone who graduated from who wants a nice souvenir of what the university is getting up to these days. Could be used by rival universities to get an idea of what prospectus designs are being produced elsewhere.
