Original 1777 10 1/4 inch x 8 inch Etching and engraving titled JEPHTHAH’S RASH VOW
Figures around an altar, women kneeling at the feet of another who stands with hand on chest, as a trumpeter plays at right, elders surrounding and a kneeling nude figure with his hands in the bowl in the left foreground, a guard at right.
Etched by William Walker (1729 - 1793).
After Daniel Dodd. Portrait and flower painter in crayons and miniature, occasionally in oils.

Josephus, Flavius (37 - c. 100), was a first-century Romano-Jewish scholar, historian and hagiographer, who was born in Jerusalem (then part of Roman Judea) to a father of priestly descent and a mother who claimed royal ancestry.
