Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1996 Franco Zeffirelli Romance JANE EYRE, based on the novel by Charlotte Bronté and starring William Hurt, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Joan Plowright, Anna Paquin, Geraldine Chaplin, Billie Whitelaw, Maria Schneider and Fiona Shaw.
An orphaned young girl, Jane Eyre (Paquin), suffers humiliation and abuse at the hands of her aunt (Shaw) and is subsequently banished to a strict boarding school for several years. Upon her release, the adult Jane (Gainsbourg) becomes a governess at Thornfield Hall, caring for the child of Mr. Rochester (Hurt) and his ailing wife (Schneider). Jane and the enigmatic Rochester begin an intense relationship overshadowed by doubt and madness.
