Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1977 Franklin J. Schaffner Drama ISLANDS IN THE STREAM, based on a story by Ernest Hemingway and starring George C. Scott, David Hemmings, Gilbert Roland, Hart Bochner, Susan Tyrell, Richard Evans, Claire Bloom and Brad Savage.
Artist Thomas Hudson is an American who has left the civilized world for a simple life in the Caribbean.
Poster art by Patrick Heron (1920 - 1999). Born at Headingley, Leeds in Yorkshire. In 1929 he moved to Welwyn Garden City where he established Cresta Silks with notable designers including Edward McKnight Kauffer and Wells Coates, Paul Nash and Cedric Morris. Widely recognised as one of the most innovative figures in twentieth-century British art Patrick Heron worked as a painter and played a major role in the development of post-war abstract art.
The poster is in fine folded condition.
