Seller's Description
16 Original approximately 9 1/2 inch x 7 1/4 inch Black and White Portraits for the 1956 Ralph Thomas Comedy THE IRON PETTICOAT starring Bob Hope (9), Katharine Hepburn (1), Robert Helpmann (2), David Kossoff (1), Noelle Middleton (1) and Nicholas Phipps (1).
Captain Vinka Kovelenko defects from Russia, but not for political reasons. She defects because she feels discriminated against as a woman. Captain Chuck Lockwood gets the order to show her the bright side of capitalism, while she tries to convince him of the superority of communism. Naturaly, they fall in love, but there's still the KGB, which doesn't like the idea of having a defected Russian officer running around in London.
The portraits are by Cornel Lucas. Born in 1923 Lucas was a world-renowned Rank Studios photographer known for his legendary black-and-white portraits of stars including Joan Collins, Brigitte Bardot, Lauren Bacall, Marlene Dietrich, Katharine Hepburn and Diana Dors, among many others.
The portraits are in good condition to very good condition.
