Seller's Description
Sepia real photographic postcard showing a view of interior of St Mary the Virgin's Church at Down St Mary near Crediton in Mid-Devon, and focusing on the rood screen built by a local master joiner, William Bushell, in 1878-80. It would seem that this same Mr Bushell is the sender of the card and that he may well have had the card produced for his own use.
Publisher not stated, though probably W H Bushell, not numbered.
Postally used with double circle Bow postmark 23 December 1916 on green halfpenny stamp and sent by W H Bushell to Mr & Mrs T O Hocking, Munslow School, Craven Arms, Salop. Hocking taught gardening at the school.
Good condition, with some corner bumps and small light creases to top left and bottom right corners.
