CHAU1654  Antique 1947 personal letter from Humphrey Lestocq to a fan from his BBC wartime 1940s radio show Merry Go Round introduced as entertainment for British troops during World War II.  It provided the first major role for Jon Pertwee, who would later star in The Navy Lark and as the Third Doctor in Doctor Who. Humphrey also was in Angels One Five and The Long Shadow, and guest appearances in the television series The Avengers. He has sent the letter from the BBC Merry Go Round studios for the 1940s radio show dated 1947 and has personally signed it too on his official letterheading - has folds where posted and light ageing otherwise outstanding condition and a very rare signature to secure of this historic BBC radio star who was also a real time pilot in the war too.
