John Henry was aptly named after the folk hero, becaming a legend in thoroughbred horse racing and a champion with 39 lifetime wins. The colt was twice voted the Horse of the Year Eclipse Award as a victor of 17 Grade 1 races, leading him to be ranked #23 on Blood Horse magazine’s top 100 U.S. racehorses of the 20th Century. The commemorative 40-year-old pin was issued at Inglewood, California’s, Hollywood Park race track and it’s in rare Mint Condition.
