Original 1885 5 5/8 inch x 8 7/8 inch etching titled ”HERE IT IS!”.

A young woman reading newspaper, sitting at table, seen from behind, two cats sitting on a rattan chair to the left.

Etched by Robert Walker Macbeth (1848 - 1910). A Scottish painter, etcher and watercolourist, specialising in pastoral landscape and the rustic genre. Macbeth studied in London, producing realistic everyday scenes and working for The Graphic magazine. He painted in the Lincolnshire and Somerset countryside, in works influenced by those of George Heming Mason and Frederick Walker.
