Original British 11 inch x 17 inch Trade Advertisement for the 1945 Jean Yarbrough Comedy HERE COME THE CO-EDS starring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Peggy Ryan, Martha O'Driscoll, June Vincent, Lon Chaney Jr. and Donald Cook.
When Abbott & Costello are remembered, almost invariably two scenes come to mind--the "Who's on First" sketch and the one found in this movie, where Lou is served a bowl of chowder and the beastie therein grabs his tie, squirts his face, etc. Otherwise, this film is a typical Bud and Lou comedy wherein the boys are the caretakers of an all-girl college that is about to go under. Bud takes to the wrestling ring with the "Masked Marvel" (played by Lon Chaney, Jr.) to save the school from bankruptcy.
Advertisement art by Victor Hicks (1893 - 1946). Hicks trained at the Slade School of Fine Art in London and in the 1930’s he was designing theatrical and advertising posters as well as illustrating children’s books.
The Advertisement is in very good condition with a vertical centre fold.
