Seller's Description

Original British 8 1/4 inch x 11 3/4 inch 12 Page fully Illustrated Brochure for the 1959 Herbert Wilcox Drama THE HEART OF A MAN starring Frankie Vaughan, Anne Heywood, Tony Britton, Michael Medwin and Anthony Newley.

Romantic comedy in which unemployed sailor Frankie Martin (Frankie Vaughan) has a chance encounter with a tramp named Bud (Peter Sinclair). Frankie is given a shilling from Bud, who promises him that if he finds a way of making £100 by honest means then he will presented with £1,000. Frankie ends up in a job working for a casino operator named Tony Carlisle (Tony Britton) and falls for the alluring Julie (Anne Heywood), but Frankie's motivation for the job soon diminishes, and he is dismissed from his role. Taking up a series of odd jobs as a means of income, Frankie and Julie continue to romance each other and begin their singing career. Could this be Frankie's way to big money?

Cover art by Nicola Simbari (1927 - 2012). Born in San Lucido, Calabria, though raised in Rome, Simbari attended the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma and opened his own studio at the age of 22 at Via del Babuino in the centre of the city. From the outset Simbari undertook commercial commissions alongside work for fine art exhibitions. Many early commissions were illustrations for theatre publicity which led to work for Italian and then international cinema. He had a one man show at Arthur Jeffries Gallery in London from 1957 - 1959.

The brochure is in very good condition with the number 59-413 written in ink at the bottom of the front cover.
