Seller's Description
Original Danish 24 inch x 33 inch Poster for the 1996 Jørgen Leth Documentary HAITI. UNTITLED featuring Jean-Bertrand Aristide (Haiti's first democratically elected president), Toto Constant (founder of FRAPH, a Haitian death squad that terrorised supporters of exiled president Jean-Bertrand Aristide), Raoul Cédras (a Haitian former military officer who was de facto ruler of Haiti from 1991 to 1994), Sophie Destin, Chantal Regnault (French-born photographer and documentarist) and Franck Romain (the former Mayor of Port-au-Prince).
Documentary film-maker Jørgen Leth observes a country where reality often seems surreal and resembles fiction. Haïti’s history is written in blood, with death and horror part of Haïti’s everyday life and voodoo playing an important role in politics. Leth has also captured moments of sensuality and beauty in this epic and very personal documentary.
The poster is in very good unfolded (rolled) condition with a small hole in both top corners, a 1 inch tear at the bottom, a soft vertical crease line and corner pinholes. Will be shipped in gorilla proof tube.
