Neftyano-Shirvanskoe mestorozhdenie nefti. 1913, the study of the oil-Shirvanskoye field and the present essay belongs to Ivan Mikhailovich Gubkin (1871-1939), a Russian scientist and inventor of domestic petroleum geology. His first scientific works were devoted to the problems of oil geology and he first began working in 1908 in the Kuban oil-Shirvanskoye district.
