An ORIGINAL (not a copy or reprint) document giving public notice of the CLOSURE OF MORLEY TOP STATION as a result of the Beeching Report.
The whole line would be closed in time. Today very little remains to indicate that the station was ever there.
This lot includes:
-The original document; Kept flat and sealed in a book+plastic bag since 1961. In near mint condition. Measures 16cm wide by 25 cm long approx. Issued December 1960 for closure in Jan 1961.
-Two tickets for Morley Top (1 is a platform ticket and 1 is a clipped ticket for a half day excursion to Cleethorpes),
- 1 Ticket for Morley Low station (which is still in use, albeit on a slightly different site) Single to Batley,
- A reprint photo of the station in its heyday,showing both platforms and station buildings and signal box,
-An original postcard of Morley Top and a train on the London bound platform,
-A postcard showing an old GNR timetable for Morley, Dewsbury, Batley and Keighley,
All are in near mint condition.
A rare example of memorabillia from a long gone station.
