Theodor Gorshelt (1829-1871), a German painter and drawer, Bata. He went to the Caucasus in 1858, first as Kruzensterns adviser in Tiflis, then moved to the left flank of the Caucasus line, accompanied Vrevskys expedition to Dagestan; in 1859, he took part in General Evdokimovs winter campaign in Chechnya and in military operations against Circassians on the Black Sea coast; witnessed Shamils captivity; visited Baku, Erivan, and other places in Armenia.
