These awesome Giant-Size Comics were first released in the summer of 1974 and are coveted by Comics’ Collector’s today! I am the original owner...these are all bought by me off the newsstands when they were released! I’ll be listing many sets of these in the coming weeks!
1 – May 1975 – FN - "Never Bug a Giant! by Stan Lee, Don Heck & Frank Giacoia r/p Avengers #31, as Captain America, The Wasp and Hawkeye leave for South America to help Goliath. Goliath and Prince Rey seek The Keeper, who controls a cobalt flame capable of destroying the world & Goliath attacks the Keeper and gets captured. All the Avengers attack and also get captured except the Wasp. Prince Rey's forces attack the Keeper's & Wasp frees all the Avengers. Hawkeye smothers the flame with explosive arrows, destroying it! "The Verdict Is: Death!" r/p Daredevil #20 as Matt Murdock willingly allows thugs to capture him so he can be taken to the Owl's Aerie, where the criminal is putting on a mock trial to kill Judge Lewis & Matt calls upon a witness, which gives him a chance change into Daredevil and attack them but the Owl manages to spring a trap and trap DD in a cage! ”The World Beyond"r/p Strange Tales #122, as Doctor Strange becomes the target of Nightmare once more! Going into his realm, Strange is defeated and finds himself bound in mystical bonds that prevent him from using his magic powers. Strange tricks Nightmare by hypnotizing him into seeing his most feared foe: The Gulgol. Scared of his enemy, Nightmare agrees to free Strange to defeat the Gulgol, after which Strange reverses his hypnosis and tells Nightmare of his ruse. Using his magic powers to keep Nightmare at bay, Strange retreats to his own body, escaping Nightmare once more!
2 – July 1975 – FN - "The Sign of the Serpent!" r/p Avengers #32 as Goliath finds a new assistant, Bill Foster! The Sons of the Serpent attack General Chen, the dictator of a communist country, while he visits the United Nations. Black Widow seduces Hawkeye & Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch regain their full powers. Bill Foster, an African-American, gets attacked by the Sons of the Serpent. Captain America goes to Nick Fury for more info about this hate group and the Avengers vow to defeat them. But Cap is kidnapped and the Avengers are warned that he will be killed if they oppose them. They have no option but to refuse to fight against the Sons of the Serpent! "The Trap Is Sprung" Daredevil manages to escape a death trap and fights off the Owl's men. A volcano on the island blows, his goons flee, as the Owl unleashes his giant owl robot against Daredevil. The lava of the volcano comes near, and the Owl flees, thinking Daredevil defeated. However, Daredevil manages to grab control of the robotic owl and use it to save Judge Lewis to fly them back to the mainland! "The Challenge of Loki!" from Strange Tales #123 sees Loki trick Doctor Strange into believing that Loki is a helpless prisoner of the "evil" Thor, and the only way to free him is by gaining control of Thor's hammer. Using a spell to draw Thor's hammer to him, Loki reveals his ruse before the hammer can get to them. Canceling the spell and having Thor track its path to his Sanctum, Doctor Strange attempts to fight off Loki. Loki proves to be more adept at magic than Strange; however, Loki is forced to retreat when he sees that Thor is on his way. With Loki gone, Thor continues on his merry way, unaware of the plot against him that almost succeeded!
