Question From mcmark64 [+1296] Sun 09 Feb 2025 19:25:58 (EDT) I haven't heard anything in a while. What's the status?

Answer From MadScientist57 [+558] Mon 10 Feb 2025 06:09:34 (EDT) Hi. Ever so sorry. I've had a major catastrophe with my
computer involving Microsoft OneDrive. Most of the image
files, including those of coins were lost by OneDrive. I've been
pulling my hair out trying to get them back. I am looking for
the newer purchases also, but most of my time has been
involved in installing and using recovery software

Question From mcmark64 [+1296] Mon 10 Feb 2025 21:38:05 (EDT) What a mess. I'm sorry to hear that. The irony of the situation is that this is what Microsoft promises when using OneDrive: "Don’t worry about losing files—if something happens to your device, they’re backed up in OneDrive." I was just checking to see if I needed to do anything on my end. I'm not in any hurry. I hope you can recover your data.

Answer From MadScientist57 [+558] Tue 11 Feb 2025 06:40:50 (EDT) Thanks. Lost about 9500 image files including almost all the
coins and books. I used a file recovery program called Recuva
which needed each file to be ticked and and sent to a folder,
so far got back about a third but it was slow and tedious. I
message Microsoft over it in their tell us section but had no
reply yet. OneDrive can be reset on the computer to prevent it
from uploading image files (which caused my problem), but
they don't tell you beforehand what OneDrive has been doing
until it's too late. Go to settings then sync and backup, and
set what's saved there

Question From mcmark64 [+1296] Sun 23 Feb 2025 17:02:08 (EDT) How are things going with the photo recovery? Do you still have all of the coins I purchased? There are a couple more items I could bid on, or we can settle up now. And are you able to send better photos of this sixpence (obverse and reverse)?

Answer From MadScientist57 [+558] Mon 24 Feb 2025 05:22:17 (EDT) Hi very sorry about big delays. I am slowly re-doing a lot of
images after no joy from Microsoft. Added to it I have
appointments concerning gall bladder removal and had email
access trouble for a couple of days. Might be best to hold off
on additional bids. I have all the items from 1st larger batch
ready. Still need locate the later purchases

Question From mcmark64 [+1296] Mon 24 Feb 2025 12:34:52 (EDT) I understand, I had to have my prostate removed. No fun. I'll hang tight.

Answer From MadScientist57 [+558] Tue 25 Feb 2025 06:24:17 (EDT) Thanks for patience. The good news is the consultant thinks he
can remove my hernia at the same time he does the gall bladder

Question From mcmark64 [+1296] Mon 24 Mar 2025 00:50:40 (EDT) I hope the surgery went well. It's been about a month so I wanted to check in and see how things are going.

Answer From MadScientist57 [+558] Mon 24 Mar 2025 06:03:49 (EDT) Hi Mark.
Ever so sorry about this. I am trying to sort and find things.
Pre op assessment is on Thursday afternoon with provisional
operation booking for 11th April. I also had to renew phone
and internet contract, they are coming to bore holes in walls
and update cables, router etc. I have been doing some looking
for the rest of the coins without much success. I have one
more major place to look. Should know one way or the other
by the weekend.
Deepest apologies. I haven't forgotten you and I feel guilty
about it.

Answer From MadScientist57 [+558] Tue 20 May 2025 06:17:55 (EDT) Hi. Sorry recovering but unable to lift anything too heavy. It
makes it awkward with getting tubs and boxes, especially
heavier items like coins. I shall enlist some help at the weekend
and get to some of the things I've been frustrated by
