Seller's Description

Original 1928 British 11 7/8 inch x 17 5/8 inch Double-Sided Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1927 Gregory La Cava Romantic Drama THE GAY DEFENDER, based on the story by Grover Jones and starring Richard Dix, Thelma Todd, Fred Kohler and Jerry Mandy.

On the reverse is the 1927 Harry d'Abbadie d'Arrast Romantic Drama SERENADE, story and screenplay by Ernest Vajda and starring Adolphe Menjou, Kathryn Carver, Lawrence Grant and Lina Basquette.

A pretty young woman who is married to a famous composer who cheats on her, disappears. When he goes looking for her, he thinks he finds her in the arms of another man, but actually she was just teaching him a lesson!

AND the 1928 Ralph Ceder Comedy WIFE SAVERS, based on Florenz Ziegfeld’s ‘Louis XVI’ by Arthur Wimperis and starring Wallace Beery, Raymond Hatton, Zasu Pitts and Sally Blane.

Louis Hozenozzle and 2d Lieut. Rodney Ramsbottom, two American soldiers, are stationed in Switzerland after World War I. Ramsbottom is in love with Colette, a pretty Swiss girl, and when he receives orders to leave Switzerland he orders Hozenozzle to remain there to protect Colette. General Lavoris, a Swiss, also desires Colette, but she spurns him. Returning home, he has a fake order issued stating that all unmarried women must immediately take husbands. At her request, Hozenozzle marries Colette. Ramsbottom then receives a letter from General Lavoris telling him that he has been doublecrossed, and the lieutenant immediately returns to Switzerland and challenges Hozenozzle to a duel. Colette intercedes, explaining that she married only to save herself from Lavoris. The mayor grants Colette a divorce from Hozenozzle, but all the suitors lose her to a handsome young major.

The Advertisement is in very good condition with one vertical centre fold and two staples along either side of it.
