CHAU3356 Antique 1966 hand signed letter from Gastone Guidotti historic Italian Ambassador from the 1950s and 1960s to Col E.Grey Turner (famous WW2 doctor who received the Military Cross) which is a letter of gratitude and how touched he was with Dr Elston Grey's donation and personally signed by Gastone Guidotti in blue biro on his official Italian Embassy headed paper folded twice and light places graded vg minus condition.
Gastone Guidotti (Florence, 29 September 1901 28 March 1982) was an Italian diplomat, permanent representative for Italy to the United Nations from 1951 to 1955. On 8 July 1960, Guidotti was promoted to permanent ambassador and, the following year, he was in Bonn, as Ambassador of Italy to the Federal Republic of Germany and, in 1964, ambassador to London.
This has come from the private collection from the estate of Doctor Elston Grey-Turner CBE MC TD (16 August 1916 20 January 1984) who was a British medical doctor who served in World War II and was on the staff of the British Medical Association for many years. He joined the Royal Army Medical Corps and served as regimental medical officer to the 2nd Battalion of the Coldstream Guards 19421945. He was awarded the Territorial Decoration, and also the Military Cross.
