Seller's Description
An original 'One of a Kind' watercolor by Frans van Baars. Bought at his gallery in 1999 when it was located in Washington, NC by my parents. Enclosed in its original rustic frame. Title of the watercolor is "Lone Sentry'. This is not a print. Only one of these was produced.
The watercolor shows an egret or heron wading in water in front of green marshgrass. The bird and grass are reflected in the water. Green and blue colors in painting.
Signed by Frans van Baars in the lower left hand corner.
Matted in an acid-free enviroment. Displayed and stored out of sunlight. There is no fading or stains. The picture is distorted somewhat by reflections by the glass.
The watercolor measures approximately 7.5 inches wide x 4 inches tall. The frame measures approximately 14.25 inches wide x 10.75 inches tall.
The dark brown wood frame does show scratching in some spots. They are not noticeable if one keeps the frame conditioned with lemon oil.
Overall, in very good condition but I am not an art expert.
