Interesting type in beautiful condition stuck in Paris. It is the last year of the large copper coin right after Thessaly was transferred from Ottoman, which depicts the portrait of the King, though his rule was lasted for many decades after until his assassination. The denomination is written in obols (double obol) and in leptons (10 leptons). Recently with the help of this coin the main dies of 1882 were discovered and the basic classification was developed.
Obverse
Die 1 - cornucopia almost vertical, fasces high and tilted, close to portrait, date wide, "2" low.
Die 2 - cornucopia almost vertical, fasces low and tilted, far from portrait, date wide.
Die 3 - cornucopia lower than “Γ” in ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ and tilted, fasces almost vertical, date wide, "2" high.
Die 4 - cornucopia low and tilted, fasces low, close to "N" and tilted, date condensed.
This coin is attributed as struck by die 4. For high interest of collectors to the classification of varieties the the basic classification of 1882 dies was published in the article №1132 en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1132.html of Numista catalog with the images of this very coin for easy attribution.
