Seller's Description

Framed, mounted and glazed 19th century print of the thorough-bred English stallion BARON.

Would have been taken from a publication of the time, to the back is a sticker saying it is 19th century and over 80 years old so it would have been framed around the 1970's or earlier.

Previously the property of owner of Morley Street, Forest Sun etc etc the late Michael Jackson ( Salehurst Paper Co / Michael Jackson Bloodstock Ltd ) and was one of a number of his racing related items which were auctioned last year at Sothebys in London.

The central image measures 21cm by 15cm and the overall frame is 31cm by 27cm, print as new condition, frame good condition with odd small surface mark.

Dear Mr Panell, Underneath the horse is the caption "Baron", a thorough- bred English stallion. On the reverse of the framed print it says "This is a genuine 19th century print and is guaranteed to be over 80 years old". The print was part of a collection belonging to Mr Jackson, late owner of the Champion Hurdler Morley Street and many other fine horses. I hope this information helps. Best regards, Harvey ...
