Original 1866 7 1/4 inch x 9 5/8 inch engraving titled FLORIZEL AND PERDITA - “THE WINTER’S TALE”
Interior of the shepherd's cottage, where Perdita welcomes the disguised Polixenes and Camillo who sit to right and selects flowers to offer them from a basket provided by Dorcas, watched by Florizel who stands behind her to right.
Engraving by Lumb Stocks (1812 - 1892).
After Charles Robert Leslie (1794 - 1859). Anglo-American painter and writer on art. In his day he was well known for his paintings of literary themes, but he is now remembered mainly as a writer, above all for his Memoirs of the Life of John Constable (1843), which is regarded as one of the classics of artistic biography.
